Childbirth Education
We offer childbirth education classes thought by midwives and midwife students who hold a certified child birth educator certificate. These students must actively be enrolled in a MEAC accredited school and also have completed a doula training course and have professional prior birth experience in the midwifery student role.

Community Midwife Services (out of hospital) Both home and birth center options.

Midwifery services provide comprehensive care during a low-risk pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum period. Midwives focus on natural, personalized, and holistic approaches to childbirth as well as provide information on modern Western medicine options, emphasizing prenatal care on physical, emotional, and educational needs of during specific points of pregnancy. A midwife will monitor and look for anything outside of normal for both the baby and pregnant person as a unit. Offering prenatal screenings, local resources, provide labor support, medical assistance when indicated, assist during delivery only if needed, monitor birther and baby during the immediate postpartum period, and 6 weeks of newborn and postpartum care.

These services often include:

  • Prenatal visits to track pregnancy progress and address concerns including recommending, performing, and referrals for laboratory work as indicated and consented to

  • Nutritional and lifestyle counseling

  • Birth planning assistance tailored to individual preferences, health history, and current pregnancy status

  • Continuity of care and continuous labor support promoting comfort, safety, and physiological birth with the least interventions needed

  • Immediate newborn care, newborn evaluation for 6 weeks afterbirth, breastfeeding support, and perineal support

  • Postpartum care addressing physical recovery, emotional well-being, and parenting adjustments

  • We also offer fertility education services and well-person care

We collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals when higher-risk conditions arise, ensuring safety and comprehensive care. We aim to work with other providers, when indicated, in an effort to see if a non-hospital delivery is still safe and possible. Our goal is to empower and work along side the pregnant person, with evidence informed information and unbiased support, to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
